ABOUT ME!
Hey there! My name is Josh, and I'm a photographer based in Leeds, and born and raised in the city of Hull!

Since a young age, I've always been fascinated by the creative industry in one way or another, starting with a passion for drawing and graphic design work, originally wanting to go into architecture as a profession. However, during my time at secondary school, with the help of my photography teacher at the time, I made the decision to persue photography more seriously.

That one decision changed my life.

The early days of my work had me facisnated with urban and urbex subjects. Rooftops, streets, abandoned buildings. I felt it made my work stand out and allowed me to develop a style I loved as I learned the basics. Around 2019 however, I gained my first residency as a club photographer, photographing 2 bars in my hometown, Dirty Dicks, and Silvers Bar. While I admit I was out of my depth at the time, I fell in love with nightlife photography and knew if I wanted to go into photography as a job, this would be what I wanted to do. The raw emotions from the candids, the jovial laughter, the lack of care, just being there in the moment, it truly changed my outlook on photography.

Then the pandemic hit.

Just as I was making a start on this new venture, everywhere shut down, and it was a tough time for everyone. And to top it off, later that year I moved to my new home, Leeds, for university. New City, No clients, Pandemic. Wasn't the smartest move in retrospect was it? Still I carried on, and messaged everywhere I could about shooting the few outdoor drinking-esc events that were still allowed at the time. I had a few small hires but the one that really changed things for me was when I was contacted about shooting for an event called Chow Down. Not only did they put their trust in me, they allowed me to further develop myself, both creatively and professionally. I worked with them for around a year and eventually moved on, being hired by different companies, and venues in and around Leeds, Sheffield, Halifax, Hull etc.

For me, photography has always been about conveying emotions and documenting memories, which is why I've honed my craft over the years, and positioned myself as both an events photographer and food photographer.

2026 marks the 6th year of my journey into doing the thing I love to do, which is create, and I hope I get to provide that for you as well!
